Personality Secrets - Why Blues Join Causes

Blues can be counted on to join causes and actively assist those who have need of their support. Historically, Blues have sought ways to make their mark on the world. They've reached out to others, created literature, and sought out and joined causes that have a lasting significance or have shown themselves capable of helping to make the world a better place. The superior man is... eyes for the blind, strength for the weak, and a shield for the defenseless. He stands erect by bending above the fallen. He rises by lifting others. -- Robert Ingersoll Blues have conceived of and supported many historical and contemporary social movements, such as civil rights, equal rights, and animal rights. Think of the vocal advocates you know out there, the ones that just aren't putting on a show for the cameras but deeply care about their cause, and you'll probably think of some Blues. Jane Fonda come to mind, and her "Save the Children in Hanoi" anti-Vietnam War speech. According to her personality test results, she is primarily a Blue with a strong Green secondary color. Or Mahatma Gandhi. He's another Blue with a Gold secondary color. He changed his entire life to conform to his beliefs about peaceful civil disobedience. He lived and died practicing what he preached. Some people believe that Martin Luther King Jr. was a Blue because the good reverend often talked in a Blue way about Blue topics. However, many of his biographers say he was fairly Orange in his private life. But certainly, he had a lot of Blue in him too. In other words, even though he was Orange, he was comfortable doing Blue behaviors, just as you would expect from a member of the clergy. One other aspect of this is that Blues are fairly outspoken about their causes and passions. Especially if they are extroverted. But regardless of whether they are introverted or extroverted, most Blues really do have a passionate sense of mission. And they try to use their talents and strengths to help convert followers to their cause, whatever that cause may be.

Reach Out to Someone Today

Don't you love it when someone sends you a card in the mail? It's so unexpected and it makes you feel loved and thought of. Sometimes it comes at just the right time...when you needed a lift or a fresh hope. And sometimes it causes you to remember to reconnect with that special person that you've lost touch with. It's a human contact in paper form--a tangible expression of one person thinking of another; which can so often be of great value. Certainly Joyce C. Hall (founder of Hallmark) knew the value of cards. He started with just shy of two shoe boxes full of postcards in 1910 and by 1913 he and his brothers were operating a store that sold only postcards and greeting cards. He had both the head knowledge and the heart knowledge to step out in faith with his meager "seeds" and produce great crops of bounty. It's almost mysterious how some simple written message can make one laugh, cry, hope or dream. It's like paper magic mixed with word magic! And the selection's are so incredible now that you don't have to search for long before you find one...not to mention that each card is like a little work of art that has its own personality. I know that we'd all like to think that with the Internet we're "connecting," but the truth is we're really not. At least not in that heart-to-heart way. But cards are a great way to send your loving thoughts when you just don't have time to spend with someone. They can send a hug, a hope, a smile, a laugh, or a nostalgia. They can even be blank so that you send you own words and expression. There's a reason why the card industry is booming and prosperous...they help us express our feelings and thoughts towards someone, and you can't really put a price
